Edulang has no intention of introducing speech recognition into its English courses. It is, in our opinion, a feature which is quite unsuited to the business of learning international English.

Our authors and teaching specialists agree that effective progress is more a matter of real teacher-student speech acts than mere virtual exchanges. The computer’s role is as a useful add-on rather than as a replacement.
